The Artist
I have always loved art. I did a little painting and collages when I was a teenager, drew a picture and hand plotted graphs for my dad’s scientific journal articles, learned Old English lettering from my grandfather, designed and put in gardens in my homes, and through the years found an outlet by interior decorating which I absorbed living in the homes my mother has so beautifully decorated.
My dear friend Holly introduced me to a wonderful small group of figurative sculptors last year. I showed up with my bag of clay and tools and with model in front of me sculpted the piece I call “First”. I am more surprised than anyone else that I can sculpt! By profession I have spent 37 years as a clinical scientist, inventor, entrepreneur, and serial CEO starting new medical device companies (www.MedicalDevice.com).
Now I am addicted to sculpting, prolifically experimenting and producing pieces – I am fascinated by the many possibilities. What joy it has brought to my already very satisfying life.
